July updates: KPCA picnic!!

This July 25th from 3 pm to dark, we’ll have our annual Kentucky Peace Corps Picnic! Come for an afternoon of meeting and hanging out with former, current and incoming volunteers.  We’ll have grilled meats and potluck style food with games, camping, and music.

RSVP by clicking here and we’ll send you more information.

More information about the picnic from Jenifer is below:

“WHAT TO BRING:

* a dish to share potluck style

*adult beverages, if you so desire

* each family should bring for themselves: place settings and napkins, drinks and cups, extra snacks

*chairs

*sunscreen and bug spray

*swim suits, extra clothes, and towels in case you and/or your kids decide to play in the creek (FUN!)

*outdoor games like Frisbees, bocci ball, etc.

*Camping overnight is welcome so if you plan to camp bring extra food and your gear!

*Shade…meaning pop-up shade tents like people use for tailgating (if you have such a thing)

*musical instruments (guitars, etc)

 Other information:

*I am excited to announce that we will have official KPCA t-shirts for sale this year! The cost is TBD but we think around $15.

*Just for fun – We would like to display some “then” and “now” /”there” and “here” photos. Bring a current picture of yourself and a couple of yourself during your PC service. Please mount them somehow (simply) on paper or cardboard so that you can label with your name and country and years of service. We will display them on the wall at the picnic!

* John-Mark will have grilled Marksbury Farms products available to purchase just as he has in the past.

*We will be taking donations as usual. The donations cover the cost of the port-a-potty and the excess is put into the KPCA bank account which we use to support Peace Corps projects at home and abroad.

Hope to see you there!”
